YUR LUV a Tekno come back?
The journey from being an upcoming artist to becoming a well esthablished artist is a really though and rough and though one……….these path has seen a lot of acts take this path, but eventually derray. Tekno was once on this path, when he gave us hits like, Duro, Wash, Pana, Diana and the list goes on. One would expect this act to replace the likes of Wizkid, Davido and Olamide, but interestingly, the tekno fireworks continued even till the early periods of 2017 when he lit up Davido’s diamond certified banger IF, with a little bit of his fire in the production, more of this fire was exhibited on Rara, then the big topic of Tekno’s album surfaced, and ‘TEENAGE DREAMS’ was what he called it.
But things began to fall apart when his songs no longer got the usual wild buzz enjoyed by his previous works…….Tekno showered us with a music spree of 6 songs in 11 months, but none of this had the groundbreaking effect that the self-acclaimed ‘Slim Daddy’ needed to climb back to that position he once occupied. He must have somewhere realised his problem had more to do with consistency.
Towards the end of 2017 he tried using the Wizkid effect to score a hit, an effect that has worked for so many acts but this piece fell shorts of expectation. The Pana crooner who took to twitter to share with his fans that he will be dropping a new song every month, recently dropped his 2018 debut titled YUR LUV, a track in which the singer considered the ‘Shaku Shaku’ wave currently in town….a technique lot of act are using to create hits……will these technique make a comeback for Slim Daddy?
